Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I do have friends, but I live alone, and I am home a lot, and never feel lonely. I think I have felt way more lonely in a room full of people than home by myself.
I think a feeling of peace and happiness has to come from within ourselves. It took me 15 years to figure out that no matter what, I couldn't make my husband happy if he had a mind set he did not want to be happy.
I guess, I sort of like boring so I can read a book, watch TV, do a puzzle, or just do any darn thing I want to.
There is a big difference though, you are a lot younger than I am so some friends might do you good. I've heard both good and bad about dating sites, seems like local meet ups from different areas come up and I haven't heard anything bad about them.
Go where people may hang out in your town. Do you have a job? Is there any possibility when you are bored you could volunteer at a hospital, animal shelter or even a woman's shelter?
I wish you luck.
when I left my ex, after being with him for 14 years, I really had no idea what to do with myself!!
during the week, it wasn't too bad, because I'd work in the daytime, and in the evening, had my kids.. but on the weekends, they would go to their dad's place, and I had NOTHING to do!!! no friends! no hobbies..
it was lame. I watched a TON of TV.. read a little, hung out here on the boards pretty much 24/7...oh, and I had a lot of baths...
and then, bit by bit, I got busier.. I started to make friends, or to go places that normally I wouldn't have gone to..
I also started doing a bit of art, and writing...
and after a while, that horrible, aching hole filled up.
I think it took me about 3 months, though.
now, if I get an evening to myself, I"m so excited!!!! it hardly happens anymore!!
meetup.com is really cool. you think of something you're interested in, and type it in, and find people doing it. I love ghosty stuff, so I found paranormal groups on it, etc...there is everything under the sun on there-joggers, book clubs, dog walking, etc..
also, going to the gym, take a yoga class..
and then, when you are ready to start dating-dating sites rock!!!
it's like shopping for men! and you can just go on there and chat and be flirtatious as well... it took me a year before I went on, and I just met a really nice guy, and have started dating.
that hole WILL fill up. you'll see!!!

When I left my first Ex many many years ago, I felt the way you do. I tried everything to see what I enjoyed doing. I found out that I hated Golf...loved paddleball...and became a kickboxing/martial arts instructor. BTW, great way to meet guys doing healthy stuff. I agree with the meetup groups. Try stuff even if it doesn't appeal to you.
I know you spend time on this board...but I will tell you...you have reached out to me and made some of my very bad days better. Don't underestimate that. I value you!!!!
