Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
way to say goodbye
"properly" to an abuser,
in an effort to find "closure."
The proper and effective
closure to an abusive
relationship is one
that ends with the
victim getting out
ALIVE.
It's normal to feel
lonely and depressed
when a relationship
ends, even an abusive one.
You're fortunate to have
parents caring and wise
enough to want to protect
and be there for you.
Now that this abusive
relationship is over, it's
the perfect time to get
the help to enable you
to not feel worthless.
You're a flower
on the stem
of the universe.
And now that you're
not scared all the time,
of saying or doing
something that someone
who treats you harshly
and is always angry
and fighting about
something will
become enraged
about. . . . . . . . why
don't you take this
time to take care
of YOURSELF.
Sending you hugs
and wishes for
insight, clarity,
healing and
happiness.
to nourishment, not
being the sole
comfort to your pain.
Is there anyone whom
you could call and
speak with to feel
better at that moment
and not be stuffing
something into
your mouth?
Is there anything
you could do
instead, like taking
a walk or a run, or
going to an exercise
class?
Is there anywhere
you can volunteer
your help. Helping
others is something
that has provided
many of us good
feelings. It's a
win/win solution.
Is there a "busy
hands" hobby that
brings you enjoyment,
like crafting of any
kind. . . . . maybe
something you
haven't done in
awhile or something
you've always wanted
to try?
Is there something
you've wanted to
learn about?
Is there a place
you've wanted to
see, near or far
away? Diving into
planning that, even
in the distant future,
can deliver feelings
as good as blowing
up your stomach at
this particular minute.
Please see if there's
an alternative to
filling the void
with food. It may
bring you comfort
right now but in
a few months down
the road, you'll wish
you'd picked an
option that had
less detrimental
effects.
