Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
My mom invited me to go to a family reunion with her. Instead of saying I love you, and I'd be honored if you would attend. She says in a hateful voice, now you better look good and act good, then she goes on to elaborate on what I should wear, and how I should act. I called later that night to decline the invitation. My ex-boyfriend, he was a narcissistic control freak. He was always yelling at me to look good and act good, etc., etc, I was never good enough for him and we have been broken up since July.
For some emotional abusers, I guess you can never be good enough. For the narcissistic, they want to put themselves on a pedestal, when they are not that great.

Talk about understatement: In fact, you will never be good enough for ANY emotional abusers.
(But really ----- who cares? Why worry about being "good enough" for some pathetic, damaged person?)
Think of it this way:
Being "good enough" for an emotional abuser is like trying to sweeten the stink around a landfill with a can of air freshener. It aint gonna happen.
Why is an emotional abuser good enough ----- for YOU?
We should never take anything that an emotional abuser says personally - because it really isn't personal. They see the world as the enemy and we are a part of the world.
I agree with #2 - why is an emotional abuser good enough for you? Destructive people destroy - and most of them never stop - we just need to learn to get out of their way.

Really, why would you be good enough or even somehow good for a completely damaged person who's far far away from even being near good.
it's like giving jewelery to a pig in mud.
Abusers reflect on us what they are lacking in themselves.
because they feel & know that they're not good enough for anyone or anything, they reflect this defect on us & forces it to be true.
They are creating an illusion for themselves that the defect & wrongs they have is not in them, instead it is in us, that's all what it's about, lying to themselves to convince themselves that the defect is not in them but in us.
My abusers weren't capable of acheiving 1% of what i've acheived, & not even in a million years, but yet, abused me in the same way that i'm not good enough ( even though i've achieved 99% better than them)
You are more than good enough for yourself, & that's what really matters.
& am really sure that deep deep inside themselves, they wish they can be like you, but coz they can't, they do what they do.
