Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Anyway......it is a safe bet that this therapist does not have a clue if he says talk about with your abuser that is like telling a fox not to eat a hen...

I think honestly that we need to write up a questionnaire for the therapist. What is your take on emotional abuse? etc. Before I pay someone my hard earned money, I would question them and their ability to help me. A lot and I mean alot of people need to realize that although they are paying for advice, they also need to know that they have a quality therapist they are paying for.
But that is just me.

I politely let him know that I disagreed with that assessment and provided him with a wonderful list of abusive signs. I think it was a good session overall, and he does commend me for standing my ground with him on certain issues because caving will not solve anything either.
I'm sorry for my bluntness....Please RUN, don't walk, out of his office and find a therapist who gets it.
I'm glad I don't know your therapist because if I did, I would say:
EXCUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME!!!!! Shoving is borderline????? Go revisit the issue w/your husband? Get real buddy, that's putting her in HARM'S way.
Hugs!!
PS, I agree w/Deedee re Evans' books.
