Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I was just looking at some emotional/verbal abuse books on Amazon. I came across one written by Susan Forward. It's called Emotional Blackmail. I read inside the book a little bit, and a lot of the examples used in the book have happened to me (and probably to most of you out there too).
As I was reading, I kept thinking that the behaviors described in the book are abusive behaviors and actions. Has anyone read this book? Does it offer good information and advice? Is there a difference between emotional blackmail and emotional abuse?

I would say emotional blackmail/emotional manipulation and emotional abuse, speaking from experience are all the same thing.
Its somebody playing games with your emotions in order to hurt. Sick mentality
As happiness so aptly said:

Same thing. Variation in vocabulary.
