dysfunctional famlies

I don't know about all of you but it seems like my family, Mom and Dad, siblings, are my biggest abusers. They are so dysfunctional. I can't stand it anymore! I still love them though of course but I wrote my Father and told him I just can't talk to him anymore. I also wrote my oldest brother and had a few words with him. Iv never done that before but every time I talk to anyone in the family something they said about me gets back to me and it hurts, and its not true. My family just loves to gossip and talk shit and tear others down. So I just have to stay away completley I guess. It sucks. Anyone else out there with families from hell.

Yes ~ mine! I have had little to no contact with my family for many years. It has been very hard and sometimes I wish to communicate with them, but then I remember the hell that comes from it.

My mom came to see me when I was going through chemo (I didn't invite her ~ someone thought they were doing me a favor); we took her to the airport when she left. She got busted for smuggling drugs ~ she told the police they were my drugs for my chemo. That is the last time I spoke with her...

Hard to do. Many times I would love to call my mom...she is too toxic...doesn't respect boundaries. I keep her out of my life and that of my kiddos.

You can love your family without interacting with them.

I haven't had anything to do with my family of origin for years. It's one of the best decisions I made. Hard to do at the time though and probably not for everyone.

Most of my family is dead except for a brother who is a rageaholic and mostly likely bipolar and a half-sister who is a Dr. Jekly/Mr. Hyde and you don't know who it will be that day. I talk to a cousin but aside from that they are all crazy. I can relate. I'm sorry. I guess we will have to be each other's family.

My parents where really bad..abusive in everyway. They are gone now died early in life.. I alway said God took them so we would not have to take care of them since they never too care of us. A couple of my sisters are..so-so, but overall my Sibling are good to each other and me..but I had not talked to my parents for a long time b4 they passed..
