Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I applaud your self-awareness at realizing that the drill is going to be extremely traumatic to you (and rightfully so! It's like having a fire drill in the burn ward!) and huge kudos for taking what steps you could to minimize the damage to yourself! Fantastic work taking care of yourself.
And my goodness, that's scary about your daughter - head injuries are nothing to sneeze at. I'm glad she took the steps she needed to protect herself - sounds like she got that from you, mom! - and that she's protected, as well.
Those are some nasty shocks to the system, but I'd like to point out just how well, maturely, and independantly you're handling them, even though it is hard! Good work!
Hell no I do not want to do it!!! lol. It's just too soon no matter how i look at it. I am pretty tough but even i know my limitations.
Omg, yes it would be like a fire drill in a burn ward. Great visual.
:-) Yes, we are too tough cookies!! I was on the phone with her when she hit her head. Her bed it like a 3-4 feet off the ground so they can store stuff underneath so she was under bed getting her laptop and hit her head like behind her left ear. So glad she didn't pass out ... I would have been on someone's airplane by now. We both have medical issues so she knows we don't play around ... if we think we need the er we go. AND He doesn't know where either of us are!!
Thank you for those encouraging words. Yes, it is very hard but i have you guys and my other support system so that helps a lot.
Thanks again for that hug!!! ;-)
How are you doing?
It's just nothing something i think i could do although i would like to see how the building responds. I will ask someone I trust how it went and pretend to have missed it while on lunch. lol
My daughter hasn't gotten any worse. She hit her head pretty hard and I'm sure will be having a headache for a few days. She tried to take a nap when a safe amount of time had passed but said everytime she closed her eyes her head hurt. And light bothers her. I'm sure its a migraine esp with the nausea. The last tme we texted was about 11:15pm last night. I hope she got at least some sleep. She sounded like she didn't feel good but she was still able to function ... work on her research paper and cook herself dinner ... although i stayed on the phone with her while she was cooking. The RA's in her dorm know what happened so hopefully they have been checking on her.
Have a great day everyone.
