Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Had an appointment today, follow up on filling migraine meds and I got up my courage to talk to my doctor about my anxiety and depression. This is my primary care physician. By the time I got out just my issues at work and my issues about my younger brother who is suffering with brain cancer and now having to draw disability , my fears about his financial security and his health issues, I was crying and in the midst of a panic attack. The doctor took my heart rate and noticed a rapid heart beat.
He asked if I had gotten into therapy and I said I had and was trying it but it alone was not enough. Also that I was sporadic with it and was isolating besides work.
Anyway, after our conversation, he put me on Celexa (Not sure of spelling) and said within a week I ought to notice some change hopefully. It is for anxiety and depression.
I hope it helps and I am hoping I won't gain weight as the Wellbutron did not seem to help much and it had a side effect of weight gain.

I too have to take anxiety and depression medication, not Celexa though so I am not sure about weight gain.

ooooo , I am so hoping they don't add more weight as the wellbutron did and I am trying now to get that weight off. I have gotten most of the toxic people out of my life but there are some I cannot avoid, so dealing as best I can. I have experienced abuse, emotional, physical and sexual, yes. I am seeing a therapist, but due to my co-worker being on vacation the last two weeks and now out sick this week due to an abscessed tooth, not sure when I can get back on schedule. I am feeing the strain.
I am not sure what she specializes in but she is helpful if I could be more open with her.
