Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I agree with the above posts - you know why? Because if you are out of his life, YOUR life will be that much better without HIM and his abusive behaviour in it!
Don't tell him what you are planning, or that you think he is abusive (those things put you at greater risk). But one day, after a lot of secret getting-ducks-in-a-row, do EXACTLY that: leave.
You don't deserve this; you deserve an abuse-free life with your child/children.
And he deserves to see what it`s like when his behaviour has consequences, as all abusers do. It`s not unfair; it`s nothing you wouldn't teach a child growing up anyway. You touch fire, you get burned. You abuse, you are probably going to get left and/or disciplined by the law because it`s wrong. People don`t have to stick around for the kinds of things you told us he`s doing.
Take care of yourself and your kids xxx
Take good care of yourself and if you aren't already, get into counseling with a qualified therapist who understands & specializes in the dynamics of & recovery from abuse.
And keep posting here!
He has issues, but i know no one can convince you of that, back then, I was never convinced no matter how my closest friends did everything they could to make me face the truth. Also, stop being the victim. You don't have to endure anything. You always have a choice to leave for your sanity's sake. :-)
I'm so sorry for what
you're going through.
I know it can take
a while to decide
to leave and then
put a plan into place.
Sometimes we leave
and go back and then
have to leave again.
Where in your journey
to freedom are you,
at this point?
