You have quite a bit going on in your life. Can you find a support group in your area? A counselor that works on a sliding scale?

I urge you to stop this: All I do is sit home alone and drink.

I know it is easier said than done, but nothing good will come of the self-destructive behavior.

Use the forums here...you are not alone.

I agree wit Mango why don u find a support group or see a therapist, sittin home alone & drinking can b very dangerous cos one day ur emotions wil control you and it wil get outta hand.. ((HUGS))

I feel better after talking to my attorney today. Thankful to be getting out of town for the next week!!!

I am so mad at myself for giving this person chance after chance. Then when I finally ended it, he is still coming after me :(

OMG---when it rains it pours. I know how hard it is to get over an abusive life when the rest of your life isn't going so well either. I am in the same situation. Good luck and stay strong. Call a women's shelter, they can find low priced councelors and free support groups. I am starting a support group on Thurs! WIsh I went years ago!!

I urge you to stop drinking too. If all you do is sit alone and drink, then he might very well destroy you because you won't be thinking clearly. As hard and painful as it might be the best way to fight back is to stay sober and take care of yourself. Many years ago, I had no money, no education, and a 6 week old baby to care for. My stbx had left for the first time, and I could barely function, but I made myself because my child had no-one else to depend on. On top of that stbx was chasing me around with a lawyer. Although I did get back with him several times, I finally called it quits after several repeat performances - him taking off out the door for the single life. My point is, if I can survive and get through all of this, you can too. I am not particularly strong and I am not a heroine, I just learned to try and make my life better one day at a time, even if it all looked entirely bleak and pretty hopeless. As you probably know, alcohol is a depressant. It will only make you feel worse than you already do. If you cannot cope with the pain and the situation as it stands right now, see a good doctor, phone a d.v. shelter, and reach out to others, as you are doing on DS right now and keep doing it. power is key! take back your power you sitting around drinking is giving him more power it makes you look week and i am sure you are not even close to week! i am sorry this girl you thought was your friend turned her back on you but they are not all like that you find out at times like this who is with you and who is not! you are not alone! there are places out here that help people that are struggling you have to do your homework if he contacts you threats you record it keep it for court but you dont contact him any shape form or fashion! stay strong you can contact me at any time with any question a stupid question is the one you do not answere! good luck to you and stay strong put that bottle away and do your homework!

Thanks for the support. I'm not doing much better. I guess going out with friends and drinking isn't much better than drinking alone. I'm going to find a support group when I'm home next week.

The financial woes are my biggest problem now. I'm soooo over the EX idiot, no worries about me ever contacting him again.

Update..... I spent last week out of town visiting my daughter. It was a great escape (without alcohol).

Settled out of court with ex BF. I now have a signed stipulation that if he has ANY contact with me, I can sue him civily for damages and sue for attorney's fees. Hopefully this is the end of this nightmare. This is more than I would have received in court.

The best part was that I didn't have to appear in court and see is disgusting face and listen to him lie to the judge :) DONE!!!

Good for you! Keep moving on with your life and away from him. I'm sorry your "friend" isn't coming through for you. Doesn't sound like a friend at all to me. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think real friends stick with you through thick and thin. Better friends will come along in the future ... you're probably finding them already on DS. Magenta, I'm happy your court issue turned out well. Now you can concentrate on taking good care of yourself and taking action on your other problems. I'm sorry about your house and the loss of your job. Things will surely start to turn around. HUGS!
