Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

Unless u see the user in the forum regularly and can feel comfortable that they are genuine then don't accept any requests and keep your journals private for friends only!
Not too long ago I didn't realise I wasn't private in my profile and I had one man who had befriended me and was being way too nice and referring to me as "his good friend" which I wasn't and then another user who could have been male or female I couldn't tell by the user name or pic but they were friends with this guy who and had gone through my pics saying I was amazing and beautiful etc, I have since deleted this guy as a friend and also made my profile private to only friends!
As for my pic, I usually have a pic of myself and its never proved a problem personally but I guess that's a personal choice really!
I don't think like attracts like but I think that somehow we hope it does. So if we are nice and friendly we will receive that back! And we do, from the genuine people in this forum. But there will always be trolls no matter where you go that will be on the look out for an easy target.
Here is my advice!
It's ok to be cautious with every new person in your life that u meet! It's ok to build trust with every new person u meet. It's ok to test every new person u meet. If u have problems feeling comfortable with someone then take that as a sign that the person your around isn't to be trusted!
The right people who are in your life will make life easier! There will be zero drama and you will feel care free around them, anything else is a warning that your either not ready to form new friendships with others or the other person isn't as they seem!
I've said this before, but I try mean it-- the true nwmvers of this board are awesome and have helped me sooooo much.
The first is the 'ignore' button which is located in each person's avatar under 'view more posts' which is under their name. Make sure you select both public and private. This should keep you from seeing anything they send you personally like hugs & pm's. It will also prevent you from seeing their comments. The only exception is you will see their OPs when you first click on the group. You will also see their name if they are the last commenter on a post. However, when you click into the post, you will no longer see their comments.
The second is to report them via the feedback link. This is found on the 'help' link under contact us. This is the direct link:
http://www.dailystrength.org/help/feedback
Make sure that you include links to the offensive stuff. Do NOT delete the hugs or pm's until you know that DS has banned them.
It usually takes a DS a few days, but they are pretty good at getting rid of trolls. You can always check to see if they are gone by clicking on their avatar which will take you to their acct or a page saying they are no longer there.
If nothing happens, you can try contacting any CL or going to the DailyStrength Members group and asking for their help.
Something we do in this group is to let each other know who we suspect are trolls. If they are brazen enough to come onto the boards, we may even out them publicly.
