Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Another vent....just another day in paradise

So, work has been a nightmare. I now have to go to mediation with this employee who has wreaked havoc on my office as the owners state that she "deserves" to have her grievances heard in a non-threatening environment. That meeting is Tuesday in an office that is about an hour further from my office; but on the plus side, the employee is on extended medical leave until the first of the year.
I started getting sick on Saturday--sore throat, then horrible cold with a barking cough, now vomiting and high fever. Because we are short two people now (with one on vacation and this other one out on leave) I cannot take off work. I am pumping myself full of ginger ale and cold pills and in general just praying to make it through work each day without too big of a disaster.
I got home last night about 6. My daughter immediately came in and told me she had to go to the library right away to finish her research for her health fair project and she needed a backboard for the project--which is, of course, due at this point. I fixed dinner and my H. was getting home as the kids were finishing eating. He was irritated because he didn't want to eat what I had fixed and because I was leaving, he was going to have to fix his own meal or go out to get something again. I left anyway because really.....I had a temperature of 102, was in and out of the bathroom and coughing up a lung, he refused to take our daughter out as he had worked all damn day (his words--like I didn't!!), and really just didn't feel like going, but she had to go.
Anyway, on the way home, I get pulled over because my tag lights are out and my tags expired the end of November. (I haven't had the money to renew them, which he knows). The cop was incredibly nice, giving me a work order and just asking me to please take care of the tags as soon as possible. He said he understands that people forget things especially this time of year, etc. etc. etc. I finally get home at about 9:45. My H is laying in bed on his laptop--refusing to speak because I guess I am being punished for leaving, then for getting pulled over, and ironically for NOT getting a ticket!! (Guess in my pathetic state I must have been flirting with the officer, hahaha!)
I throw his clothes into the dryer because he absolutely needed clean clothes (and I guess he forgot how to put clothes into the dryer and start it) and start to make myself some toast hoping to settle my stomach. As I pop the toaster down, the power goes out. He doesn't get up, just starts yelling at me that I must have done something. I ask him to check the breakers and he refuses. The temperature drops 4 degrees in the house within an hour and I am still frantically trying to call the landlord and alternately trying to figure out what I could be doing wrong with the breakers. (All while intermittently running into the bathroom as he complains loudly about me keeping him up!!) Finally the landlord answers and says he is on the way--it is now after 11 PM. Apparently the main breaker is located in the basement apartment and he will go wake my neighbor and get it tripped.
My H. then gets up yelling about how ridiculous I am and this entire apartment is and that I need to run down to the basement (which involves walking around the house, in the cold and dark, to her entrance and waking her). When I tell him I am just going to wait for the landlord because I really don't feel up to going down there, unless of course he wants to go down--which he doesn't) he starts slamming doors and wakes up the people on the first floor when he peels out of the driveway in his truck. After all this, he comes back and continues to pout and make as much noise as he can while I finally try to sleep. He then wakes me up at 2 AM having sex with me. I am so tired and can see how ridiculously petty, selfish, and juvenile he is when things like this happen. Just wanted to vent!!

Your life would be far more peaceful away from this man.
He expects from you, therefore sex is just another to add to that list and that is wrong. So wrong in fact that its illegal and considered a crime!
Have u thought about getting in contact with your local women's shelter and perhaps making plans or finding out how you can escape this abusive marriage?
There is nothing wrong or bad about speaking to them just so u know what's what and then making decisions when u have all the info u will need.
Please keep safe and practice self Care when u can, he sounds like a nasty a*se hole!
I'm really sorry for what he is putting you through. I wish there were more I could say.
I hope you can find a way to a new life soon.
((HUGS)), and vent away xx
As to your mediation, please take some time when you're feeling a bit better to write down a timeline as much as you can remember about incidents/times/dates to have handy when you are talking with her. She is going to lie her butt off. You need to stand firm and not let her manipulate the situation by lying/crying/yelling, etc.
(((HUGS)))
I too hope you can find a way out. Without knowing you, I have no doubt you deserve world's better than what this creature has to offer.
Feel better!
You are me...except I'm in NJ and your in MD. Your life was my life until I decided that being abused could not be my fault...I went to the bookstore and sat on the floor in the self help section. By fate my fingers stumbled (literally) onto the book; Should I Stay or Should I Go, by Lundy Bancroft and Jac Patrisi. This book saved my life. I read it every moment I had. It gave me unbelievable support right from the very start. This is now my bible (not literally) but it is my current life coach and biggest source of strength with extremely valuable and educational information.
My thoughts and prayers are with you sweetie. As well as my ear and my shoulder and a soft box of tissues...Lots of bigs hugs for your day... xo
Take good care of you and feel better soon
First and foremost, I hope you get better quickly. Vomiting and fever means that it's not something to play around with, and I hope that you clear up quickly. Take a little time for yourself, somewhere? I know there isn't time, but make some.
I'm too much of a gentleman to put into words what I think of your husbands behavior, but I assure you that if I did, it would curl your hair permanently (and if your hair is already curly, it would straighten it, and then re-curl it in the other direction!) He raped you. You deserve better than any of this - and you're an amazingly strong person for getting through it! Be well.
I have addressed the having sex with me while I am sleeping issue with my H several times. Of course I never called it rape; I just tell him how inconsiderate and selfish I consider it to be--to which I get the reply that as my husband it is his right to "get it whenever he wants"; if I happen to be sleeping that is my fault for not anticipating that this "need" might arise.
Anyway, he knew that he was a jerk the other night--it went above and beyond just the issues I brought up and included the fact that our daughter needed $45 for the deposit on a field trip her chorus is taking in May to NYC and he refused to give that to me because "if I hadn't been out spending money on Christmas gifts and food that he doesn't really like at the grocery store, I would have the money to give her for the field trip". He called me several times yesterday just basically to sit on the phone (in other words, gauge just how far his behaviors had pushed me this time) and came home relatively early last night for him (9 PM). He never uttered the words I'm sorry, and I'm sure he actually isn't sorry, but I know he recognizes when he is being an ass.
I decided to once again tell him I was shocked that he still continues to do this one thing I have asked him not to do and he acted as if I had lost my mind. He basically told me I must have dreamed the whole incident and seriously looked concerned about my state of mind. It got to the point where I actually started to wonder if I had imagined that he woke me again. I mean seriously, I was wondering if my fevered brain had made it up. THEN I remembered the morning when I was getting ready for work and having to spend extra time in the shower cleaning myself up just to go. So.......I am not crazy and I didn't imagine or dream it, but it is scary that even knowing him like I do he can still almost convince me that things didn't happen that I know did. WOW....it is amazing really (and a little terrifying) to think what he could actually be capable of if he used these "powers" for good instead of selfish, evil reasons.
take good care of yourself
How dare he do this to you
How dare he violate your body
How dare he come up with bullshit excuses as to why it's acceptable
And how dare he try to convince you that it didn't happen!
He sounds like a narcissist if u ask me!
Read the book
"Psycopath free" (make sure u hide it though so he doesn't know)
I found this really helpful when coming to terms with how my ex treated me.
It did happen to you, it is rape, he isn't entitled to do this to you, it isn't your fault that this happens because you're asleep, it's him that is 100% responsible for his actions.
My ex never raped me but he did try to gaslight me (like what your ex tried to do) and he managed to convince me that I had imagined him shouting at me ten minutes prior to this particular conversation!
He was incredibly convincing, so much so that I actually believed him for ten minutes. It was only during his ten minute rant that he slipped up and admitted that he had shouted at me but said it in a way where he dumbed it down, "maybe I did shout at you and I shouldn't of done but you...."
I spent what has felt like a lifetime getting caught up in his mind games and its taken me over a year of NC (no contact) to untangle myself, I urge you to look for a way out, life away from abusers is a gazillion times better!
