Another coincidence?

Today was his deadline to sign off on my deed of the house. I text him this morning to tell him that my lawyer will be filing the Supreme Court tomorrow and will be seeking my legal fees paid.

An hour later I get a call from his best friend who did electrical work for us in this house. He says hi this is Joe the electrician. Now we spent a year and a half doing things as a couple with him and his wife. And now he's the electrician. He says he needs to come into my house and finish the work he forgot about today. I said today's not a good day as I have company. I don't have company but feel he's up to no good. I had text the electrician two months ago about finishing the job and he never responded. Yet today Which is my ex last day to sign the documents or proceed with Supreme Court.

Just another coincidence. I am not sure what he's up to but it's something. I left a message for my attorney letting them know what's going on.

Trust your gut! I don't like his whole tone, "Joe the electrification.." He NEEDS to come in and finish work HE forgot about TODAY??? How about, "I am so sorry I didn't complete the work before, when would be a good time to finish that up?" THAT kind of statement sounds like a professional call without an agenda.

I would not have any contact with any of your ex's friends as part of No Contact with your ex-electrician or not. Nothing good every comes of it. Even those with good intentions get manipulated by your abuser, and your abuser will use it as a link to hold onto and ruminate about you.

I also get the feeling that they are up to something. Personally, I would hold off on having them finish anything at your house until after this case has been resolved in court. Even then I would suggest keeping an eye on him while he works (just in case). Otherwise you could just hire a different electrician to finish the job.

I agree. My gut tells me it's wrong. I won't let him over. I can hire someone else. Out of the blue is just sketchy

And the kicker of this is he has to work outside with the electrical box. It was a storm here today with heavy rain. Forgot that part. Something's up

Why did you text your ex? He will know about the fees when he is served. Let your lawyer speak to him when necessary. You are giving him too much information. Tell his friend that you have already hired someone to finish the work and that he is not welcome. Do not let any of his friends enter your home. You can be sure none have good intentions. If the "electrician" shows up, call the police and have him escorted from the property.

Over him. Days go by and I forget all about him until I have to pay all these bills.
