Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
What in the fresh H is this?!? I'm not linking to it, but I really wonder if it prey$ on the hopes of we victims that, in some little way, hope to cure our narcissistic partners.
I looked at the link and read the intro. And it said all the things you, the victim, have to do to cure him. It's not as hokey as I make it sound, but I also am not feeling the advice. How many more eggshells and glass must I walk on to make my H realize I'm actually worth respecting?
To put it in another way, if some man comes up to me and says I'm a fat, cheating, wild haired B, I would be ready to fight him. Or at least ignore him and move on. But I wouldn't try to cater to his inner demons and show him I'm not that B that he thinks I am. Yet I'm supposed to do this in my own house? Ugh, relationships are hard enough without all that drama.
We really need ebooks and advice out there on how to AVOID narcissistic personalities and how to LEAVE them if we get caught up. Cause lord knows, ever since the lies started unraveling in our relationship (before we even got married) I wanted to leave but felt stuck.
I haven't left yet, but the hope of leaving is more refreshing and rewarding than the thought of catering to his crazy whims in hopes of him actually acknowledging me.

I tend to believe the stats and the experts, psychologists, etc...that say 1 in a few million 'maybe'...not too good. I don't know what those two are up to, but I personally don't believe it - not if he's truly NPD'd.
I like your thoughts as to - regardless, you've put up with so much and are tired of it. I'm with ya sister!
I stick with statistics. I bet ole Kim and Steve do not even speak to each other anymore.
