Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

Hi, everyone. I guess I just need to vent about something that's been bothering me for decades.
Abusers get support in our society...perhaps much more than the abused...and this is not a figment of imagination or delusions of persecution.
Our legal system should not continue to allow abusers or any criminals to argue excuses for their criminal behavior. So what if the abuser is an alcoholic or addict or rage-a-holic...they should still face full-length incarceration and other punitive measures...no more reduced sentences or alternative sentencing in which offenders are sent to twelve step meetings or counseling in place of prison time! No more leniency! If you hurt someone, particularly a child or other vulnerable person, you should be put away.
Many people say our prisons are overcrowded and therefore we must have alternative sentencing and shortened sentences. I strongly believe that if offenders were forced to do the full amount of time as prescribed by law, prison populations would gradually lesson as the word gets out among criminals and would-be criminals.
In many legal proceedings, offenders seem to have more "rights" than victims. How can we push for a massive civil rights movement for victims? Can we ever march in the streets and protest for the rights of victims and against the offenders?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Ultimately, I don't think we view abuse as seriously as we should in this country. If I would have viewed my behavior differently, perhaps I wouldn't have continued.
