Abused in to Stroke

Ok all:

So i've been gone for a few weeks. Where? In the hospital. My wife abused me in to another stroke. A minor one called a TIA. But still serious. So I must be the stupidest person of all. Stuck on stupid.

She didnt even visit me in the hospital. Then she took a one week vacation to California, How nice. Well it was nice to get her out of the house. Didnt miss her a bit.
So she comes back and says I need to "get better" soon or she's leaving me. Boy she's all heart eh? I work full time with a brain injury and have had 3 minor strokes. Yesterday she sadi she loved me "so much". I must be crazy. Am I crazy?

Yes I'm looking to get out soon. Just for my own sanity. My life. Just when you think it cant get any worse.......

Oh, Martin....you are not crazy....that on again off again emotional abuse is crazy making....but it's not YOU. I do hope you get out of there soon. Maybe next time she threatens to leave....just tell her...there's the door.

I'm glad you came through it and you're back. I experienced a similar lack of support from my ex-H when it came to my health issues. He also intermittently gushed about how much he loved me. You are definitely not crazy.

Hello:

Thanks to all for the prayers. The abuse started again last night. I was going to a hotel but why should I pay for being abused? Hmmm fortress, sounds like my life. I'm in a live in prison. Siblings have offered to help, not sure what.
She does love me Kris but her idea of love and mine are different. They abuse you in to submission so you cant leave. Thats their love. Calling a divorce lawyer friend today for advice or referal

Oh Martin - I am so sorry for what you are going through. This is just awful. You are NOT stupid. You are being manipulated and abused. Repeated behavior like this - even if not every day - even if there are "not such bad times in between" - all wears us down emotionally, mentally, and physically.

You say she loves you...in her way which is different than your way. Her "love" is toxic. Not good or healthy for you.

You deserve a better kind of love. But you need to start with loving yourself first. Do what you need to do to take care of You. So you become healthy, happy and live in peace.

There will be a lot of emotions when speaking with the lawyer. It's very common and normal because you are living under such terribly abusive influence and your mind will play tricks on you.

Please be strong - you can do this. Sending strength and peace and hugs. Feel better.
