Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Going to hang on to this as a reminder when I'm questioning. Thanks for posting it!
Lovin the new avatar btw, Joanie!! xxx
My ex would say
"No one gets me like you do, no one sees me like you do, I've never been able to be myself with anyone like I am with you!"
Then in the latter stages he'd say "I think you think I'm someone I'm not!"
Totally weird when I think back!
Also, it seemed, he had psychopathic behaviors sometimes. Some things he did and then justified, with a sense of entitlement that was out of this world. He would deny his behavior and scold me if I questioned his values or morals because of his behavior.
I remember him saying may times he was proud to have me on his arm....I didn't think of it like that back then....but he did talk about his ex girlfriend just like that...like she was beautiful and everyone loved her, and it was perfect until it was destroyed and she broke....hmmmmmmm...big hmmmmm
He does the same thing with me. He tells everyone how great and wonderful I am, and that he is so broken hearted. But it's bull crap, and all his tears were crocidile tears.
That poem really resonates with me. I can think of a thousand things he did to say all of those things.
I will share it with my daughter to read as well. Her last boyfriend was/is very narcissistic.
I had some really rough talks with him about the way he treated my Jenny. I told him that he had a very selfish love for her. With me, he nodded his head and agreed with everything. He knew he couldn't pull one over on me.
But when he was alone with Jenny, he informed her that there is no such thing as selfish love. Love is just love and anything you do, in the name of love, was a good thing.
