Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
i've posted on this group before, but not for a long time.
my mother began emotionally and physically abusing me at the age of 11. at first it was just verbal, and i chalked to "mom's stressed." it got progressively worse throughout my teen years. despite the involvement of school counselors, CPS, and several police reports being filed, no real investigation was done till i was 18. at 18, i came to school after she had beaten me and arrangements were made for me to go a local shelter. i am disabled and was totally dependent on my mom, so i could noy have left on my own. i will be forever grateful for the team of angels god sent my way who helped me leave, kept me safe, and helped with the transition of living on my own during that summer.
my mother was sentenced the following year. part of that sentence includes a suspended jail sentence. my parents continue to share custody of my 2 siblings. my brother is 18, so he pretty much keeps his own schedule. however, my 14 year old sister is still obligated to go back and forth. i live with my dad.
the reason i'm giving all of you this background information is because it is started to happen with my sister-but it's strictly verbal. she and my mother argue A LOT. on saturday, my sister called me absolutely hysterical asking if dad could pick her up. our dad has a lot of health issues and has recently been put on a muscle relaxant that makes him tired. so he could not come and get her. all she would tell me is that she and mom had fought and that she wanted to be picked up.
we found out later that the fight was over my sister going to a birthday party her friends were throwing for her. apparently, my mom came home stressed from work, and she started screaming about my brother and girlfriend. my sister reminded her about the party, and mom lost it. my sister thought my mom was going to hit her. so she called me.
when she found out my dad couldn't pick her up, she started walking here. mom caught up to her in the car, and they argued again.
this seems to be escalating, but my sister won't document any verbal abuse because she saw mom destroy my journals. without documentation, how can you prove anything? i want to protect her, but i don't know what i can do. help.

Has anyone called Child Protective Services? It is verbal for now, but if/when Mommy Dearest hits your sister, that would be the first move. With your case history as an established pattern of behavior, you may be able to help Sis.
