Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
a counselor, a help center.
You deserve to feel great.
I'm so sorry for the
pain that's brought
you to this board.
You've found your way
to a forum on abuse
which suggests that
you have the gut instinct
that this may be what's
going on in your life.
My gut feeling is that
your gut instincts are
spot on.
The fact that you're
self-harming is a
red flag for me that
you're growing up
in the midst of
dsyfunction.
That you say that
your parents threatened
to disown you when they
found out ----- instead of
immediately encircling you
with love and then getting
you qualified support to
find out why and move
you toward healing and
recovery ----- shows
them to be ignorant
of loving parenting
strategies and. . . .
very possibly worse
than that.
In regards to their reaction
to your choice of attachments. . .
since you didn't share with us
whether you're "of age" or are
still a minor. . . . this is a bit
of a tougher call.
Since you say you have to ask
to be able to get to someplace
you want to get to, sounds like
if you're of age, you aren't driving
------ but more likely, you're still a
minor.
The fact that you end your brief
initial post telling us that your
parents always yell at you and
that you feel that nothing you do
is good enough for them. . . . . .
sounds to me like
you're currently being
abused and that
probably this is
nothing new, but
rather, you've been
raised under the
roof of abuse.
Presuming you're currently
in school, I urge you in the
strongest terms to visit your
school's health office or
counseling offfice, and
bring them what you've
shared with us. They're
there to help you.
If for whatever reason,
that doesn't work for you,
look up on-line the number
of your state's social service
department or department
of children and families.
Contact them immediately.
If neither of these options
work for you, private message
me where you live and I'll see
if I can help find you the
contact number for a plan
that might help get you support.
Sending you hugs and
wishes for support and
healing.
1. You are self harming-
2. Your parents ARE abusive... probably part of why you are self harming.
3. You have a same-sex relationship... I mention this because it has a set of issues of it's own.
4. Your bf is also your love interest.
5. That person is 8 years older.
6. That person is an alcoholic... NOT a wise choice for you.
So, what to do with all of this? It's difficult to say, since I don't know much about you, but all the suggestions mentioned are good and important ones.
Hugs.
