Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
that you'll believe her
when she's telling you
that your enthusiasm,
passion and enjoyment
in participating in choirs
will be perceived by the
choir master as OFFENSIVE.
She is hoping that you'll
believe something that is
totally ILLOGICAL.
Enthusiasm, passion
and enjoyment in the
act of making music
is what makes your
choir master GET
OUT OF BED every
morning. Enthusiasm,
passion and enjoyment
are longed for and
TREASURED by artists
like your choir master. . .
NOT perceived as an
offensive annoyance.
Your mother is atttempting
another tactic to
divert you from
the thing that
makes you YOU.
SHAME on her.
Just another example
of her abusive behavior.
There is no shame in singing, in having fun, with connecting to others, or in self-care. My wife made it a point to stifle my music, to the point that my 3yo son still occasionally tells me to stop singing.
It doesn't mean anything about you!
Her actions and her words are ONLY a reflection of her sick self and have nothing to do with you.
I bet she senses she is about to lose her 'control' over you and so she's ramping up her nasty comments.
You don't have to let her dictate how you feel. You can choose to not take her words to heart. Because they are NOT TRUE!!!!!
What she says about & to you have absolutely nothing to do with you but everything to do with her.
She is not emotionally healthy and more than likely is an alcoholic. Alcohol takes over a person's brain, personality, emotions & spirit and as long as she chooses to not get help, she will not change other than to get worse.
The sooner you can get out the better. But until them, just keep telling yourself that your mother's brain is off kilter and what she says may be her truth, but it's not yours.
And follow your dreams!!!
All above speak truth to you on this.
