Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
If everyone loves him then they should marry him, did they live with his abusive words and ridiculous actions? NO. So, if you don't feel comfortable to go to the wedding, don't , but I hope you can see it in other perspective that will not hurt you.
""Consider the source'' as I learned here. It has nothing to do with you, even if your name is brought up.
saying:
Consider the source.
Also. . . . .
we can never control
what others thinks.
It may be uncomfortable
and it may be frustrating
and it may feel like
all kinds of negative stuff.
But at the end of the day. . . .
what does it matter to us
what people we have no
real connection with. . . .
think?
I'm sorry that you're
feeling hurt.
This is the perfect
moment to practice
SELF-CARE.
It may also be an
ideal moment to
review your
Clarifying Index Cards
and read again,
incident after incident
and point after point,
about what life with this
guy whom everyone
loves and admires,
actually was like.
Everyone who
loves and admires
this Mr. Wonderful
only sees the facade.
The reality is that he
and his family
are violating one of
the Ten CommandmentsL
Thou shalt not
bear false witness.
(As if you needed more
proof that this guy is
HORRIBLE.)
I say again. . . . . .
you DODGED A BULLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try to shift your focus
from this klan of
abusive morons
to your own
healing
and recovery.
Remember that
living well is the
best revenge.
Yes, I do understand that it hurts, particularly when those lies are spread within a smallish community. But it really isn't about you, it really IS about them. Know your truth, know yourself and know that you have absolutely nothing for which to be ashamed. The shame and embarrassment is his and theirs (which is why they are spreading lies about you).
Take care and I hope you feel better soon. This stuff is wickedly unfair, but unfortunately all too common when people rally around the abuser.
