Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I am quite alone also, my husb of 40 years is leaving me soon to be with another woman...I have no friends, no support...I do have a dog and 2 cats that I am madly in love with, and worry that I won't be able to take care of them.....The animals are my family.....
Being alone is no fun...As bad as it is, you got to get yourself out there, and join something.....I go to a friendship club, we talk, play bingo, and eat lunch....Not great, but something...
Lately, all I wanted to do was die...
I ask myself how could he? This is the lowest I have been.
As for the bat in your home, it will go away, it is just a tempory thing,
keep your windows closed from now on.....
My friend lives in an adult home and they have mice...and all the time, so think of one bat, and a million mice...you are lucklier than her.
I am sorry you are alone...You got to give your sister time to get well, because she is in therapy....Sometimes, you have to be the caller, and never mind, if she doesn't call. You call.
Be strong.
love, meyers
It's hard being alone some times. For me it was way worse when I first left. I've been on my own for 7 yrs and that feeling happens less and less.
When I felt alone or fearful, I would go sit on my porch or go to the park & just "be" in nature. I discovered this when my therapist suggested I go sit in nature and meditate on "What is my truth?" My truth is that I am connected to everything. It was the most peaceful, joyful feeling I had ever felt up to that point. There's a lot of research being done on reconnectig w/nature and it's all very positive & uplifting.
Other things that helped me were my sweet kitty cat, journaling, Reiki (energy work), EFT, meditation, guided imagery, reading, watching funny movies or sitcoms (laughter is very healing) & making jewelry which is a very meditative & creative process.
Therapy can help too. EFT really helps with fear and anxiety. It's fairly easy to learn. Lots of EFT videos on youtube & you might check out www.eftuniverse.com for free videos there too.
When I left, I didn't have any local friends & my family lives a long way away. It took a while, but I started meeting people because I joined groups & took classes. I now have several good friends & an active social life.
This link is to a great video called How to be Alone.
