Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Hello all. I have been gone for quite awhile. Been trying to do the work on myself and it's been super hard. Seeing a new therapist and not sure about her yet but I am trying.
In the meantime, I have had severe conflict with the sister in law that I talked about on here and because of that, I am not even talking with her or my younger brother. :(
The ex still contacts (just enough to keep me in turmoil) and just did last Thursday.
Even with therapy, work keeping me busy, trying to start up a side business ...those that have hurt me still get in my head.
Feeling upset with myself tonight.
Thus far I have not called him back or unblocked him or her off social sites but my heart and conscience hurt.

I admire you for working on yourself and giving the new therapist a chance. also, I know that no contact is hard, as I have tried several times myself.
one gift that my abuser gave me..was a toughness. instead now of thinking more with my heart, I feel that I have more of an ability to, well...feel less...he has hardened me some..if that makes sense. In a way, I wish for you that your heart stops hurting during your No Contact.
I look at what I've written on my phone about my abuser. I have yet to do Ilene's clarifying card exercise, but if you have the urge to call him there is always that as a resource.

As the others have said, the road to healing is never straight or easy, for that matter. I hope things work out w/your new therapist & that you find some peace. I also hope that your side business is a huge success!!!

Though I have not texted or returned his calls..I did unblock him out of curiousity on FB and sent a message basically asking why he was wanting another chance when last I heard he was dating someone and happy? He replied but sounded arrogant and so I was pretty harsh as I really wasn't in the mood for his BS.
Last call was Wed late, no vm and nothing since so I probably made him mad.
Trying to hang in there and work and just not let it get to me.
