Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I thought if I took medication, it's 'out there' that something is wrong with me, not to mention being fearful of side effects/addiction.
From there, I learned that being in an abusive situation can cause brain chemistry changes. That was pretty frightening to think about, but made sense. After my ex, I was scared of my own shadow for a while. I still have small bouts of panic; I carry my meds 'just in case', and take them if I am having an attack.
It's personally helped me, but I think it's wise to research and discuss in detail with your doctor what's best for you.
I'm glad to hear of the improvement in your Q.O.L. :)
