Phobia Support Group
A phobia (from the Greek "fear"), is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one's control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.
You are not crazy!!! Hope this helped. Take care.
My husband works a lot, so when he is off, he is quite happy to stay home. Part of the problem is also my 13 y/o daughter. Of course we allow her to have friends over and things like that, but I am very apt to just go to my bedroom and stay there for the duration. I know most of her friends, but you know how a lot of times parents want to meet their kids friens parents? I just can't do this...and since my daughter is very active in school, it makes this difficult for her. Any ideas on this one?
I'm here if you need me. Good luck.
