The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
Well just about 6 months ago we lost our youngest of 4 fur babies. 11 yr. young Levi kitty. May 25th we woke to Freckles our beautiful Aussie mix had passed in her sleep. She had been to the vet the 2 previous days. She was our million dollar baby going thru 4 surgeries, a vicious dog attack (9 puncture wounds). And an illness like cushings/Chrons/addisons. She was resilient and Smart and beautiful! 13yrs
Now we still have Thumper beagle 14 (stills acts like puppy, when at Parks) and Lincoln kitty 13 yrs, healthy. They are grieving AGAIN. My poor babies.
Just waiting for the other shoe to drop, them passing.
The live cat n dog (Lincoln/Thumper) we have keep looking for Freckles. I feel so bad as they've lost Levi kitty and Freckles in such short time. We were all used to Levi being gone, then bam another goes.
Thumper is 14 still pretty healthy, but her lil heart is broken
Linky is 13 again healthy n spunky. Took 17 days for him to come out of hiding for long. These two will have to die someday. We're in process of becoming foster parents. Then I shall have kids whom can tell me when they sick etc., and they live longer than fur kids.
