Hi everyone, this past weekend my wife and I had to put our black lab Maddie down. She was 15 so she had a good life. She was going blind, had arthritis, had an auto immune disease, couldn't hold her bowels. So I knew she was suffering and it was time. We stayed with her until she was gone. It was hard but I feel good knowing that she is out of pain now. My wife on the other hand can't get over the feeling that it was a mistake and Maddie may have had more time and we put her down prematurly. I don't know how to help her realize that putting her down was the right thing. Any suggestions? It's hard seeing my wife so distraught but I also want to give her time to grieve.
