Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
I can't believe its been three months to this day since our cat Smokey passed but the sting of death is still in my heart. I"m trying so hard to feel better, knowing he was very loved and even pouring my love into our two new adopted kitties, but I can"t shake this pain of loosing Smokey. Dealing with depression already is bad enough but add the pain of death and it can be unbearable at times.
I feel so guilty for not being able to protect her and all I think about is how scared she must have been. I have begged them to tell me what they did with her but they claim they did not do anything. Those people actually trap cats and shoot an airsoft gun at them while they are in the trap. Sometimes they release them and sometimes they take them somewhere and dump them. They are mean old grumpy people.
I just wish I knew what they did to her, I miss her so much.
