The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.

Hi im having a really hard time

I'm having a really hard time on January 28 2021 at 130 I lost my baby girl I had her since she was 3 weeks old I cant do anything all I can do is cry she had cancer I know I had to help her cross over I think she was just holding on because of me since we got her we where together all the time for 11 years we were together 24/7 


And this hurts so bad I dont know how to deal with this pain my family tell that I'm over doing it but I cant help it

it is very hard to have to make that decision to help a pet go over the rainbow bridge.....my parents did that as I grew up with a couple dogs and when I had to do that myself it broke my heart.....it is not easy to lose a pet we loved oh so much probably as much as our own family at times.....they give us unconditional love.....I am soo sorry you had to lose her.....you gave her a good life 11 yrs from 3weeks old is a long time....try letting go of family saying your over doing it....they do not know squat about how much you loved her.....they may never understand but you grieve your loss as you want to.....hugs bill

Hi- I’m so sorry to hear this.

I understand it’s hard because my sister has 4 dogs and when one of them passed away, she was so sad and crying. Give yourself time to grieve.

I'm doing a little better it still hurts not to have a baby girl next to me I think about her everyday my sister gave me a new puppy her name is lil P is not the same as my other girl but she makes me feel like she is next to me thank you for your message they did help a lot
