Yeah, I'm like that. When I had a girlfriend there were times where her touch was just too intense for me, same thing with eye contact. Haven't had physical contact with anyone since 2004 and it bothers me that it doesn't bother me.

I don't mind a handshake but I am uncomfortable with hugs or being touched. I like being held by the one I love, I think that is different then what you are talking about. I hate standing in line at the store and someone behind you gets to close or even touches you, I get physically angry when this occures.

I honestly never attributed me not liking to be touched to my BPD. I used to be a very huggy touchy kind of person, but as I've become worse I can't stand to be touched even by my husband. I will force myself to let my kids hug and love on me, but that's usually very overwhelming to me.

dorkieyorkie- I totally feel the anger thing. At school I have to sit in the back of the class because i cant stand to have someone behind me.

I don't understand why, but all i know is that it can send me into a total panic to the point that i will dodge away to avoid confrontation that would lead to physical contact. Like I got an A and i dont want my mom to give me a hug....so i hide.

yeah, i know how you feel. i hate being huged, tuched, handshaked, etc. expescailly my parents. i feel so uncomftable. my dad still tries to hug me, but i just step back and he relizes that i dont whant him to touch me. i also have BPD, and would rather be tuches by a stranger than my parents
