I understand that BPD is a multi-symptom. I am 36, I was misdiagnosed as Bipolar when I was 18. I finally found a doctor when I was 27 who realized I am just an energetic smiley person.
She diagnosed me Major Depressive Disorder, General Anxiety, Insomnia, Body Dysmorphic, Eating Disorder not otherwise specified, and Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia. I was so happy to have someone see that I was not bi-polar. She gave me 300mg of Wellbutrin, 1mg of klonopinx3, 10mg of ambien, and 100mg of trazadone.
Did any of you disregard any of your ailments, and tied them into the BPD diagnosis? I am now taking the above medicine, along with 225mg of Effexor. We are charging that to Pristiq (same medicine, cleaner isomer).
Just like all sufferers, the criteria that I fit.. it is like a description of me. The ones I do not fit, are actually the opposite of me.

Whoa, I'm no doctor, but that's a sh!tolad of a cocktail... Why so many labels and meds to go with it? Are you OK with taking all of these? How can you possibly get regulated and know what's going on?

This scares me just reading it...

I've been dxed with BPD. Lately I've been really wondering if what I really have is Bipolar. I have the characteristics of Bipolar...but I also have the characteristics of BPD. According to my new Psychiatrist...I have a mix of everything. He's only seen me twice, so who knows...we might be able to come to a clearer understanding of what I actually have. I do know that I have DID(MPD), PTSD and was JUST dxed with OCD. But, I'm kinda on the fence about being dxed with BPD these days. Also, my last Psychiatrist said I had Major Depression. But I never really felt all that sad...I was(and seem to be again) more in a fog of the mind. I just don't really know what I'm feeling. And that's when I usually say I'm "depressed". But I'm not exactly sad. I mean, sometimes I'm more suseptible to being sad....but normally...not so much. And it doesn't last long, when I do become "sad". I think my new Psychiatrist is going to be checking me for signs of Bipolar. We did kind of toss that around a bit...so, we'll see if I've been misdiagnosed. Also, I have schizotypal tendencies. But, I can't remember if I've told him about those yet.

As for medications, I'm currently on Risperidal and Zoloft for the majority of my symptoms. Because I was just dxed with OCD, I've also just started Luvox. But I've been on the same meds for practically 4-5 years now!!!

How do you know if anything is working?? Sounds like you're being incredibly OVER medicated!! I agree with DeliAnnem...that's a BIG cocktail of medication.

I'm on alot of the same medication.
I have panic disorder, depression, and anxiety.
When my anxiety is high my depression is high and then my insomnia kicks in. So I feel your pain.

I'm on Cymbalta for my anxiety and depression, klonopin (benzo) for my anxiety attacks and ambien for when I can't sleep. Plus I have back problems so I'm on mobic ( an anti-inflammatory ) and gabapentin (a nerve pain medication ) .

I know wellbutrin is an additive to the ant - depressant.

Only thing I wonder is why they put you on 2 sleep aids. Why are you on ambien and trazadone?

Is it because you can't take ambien more than 3 x in a row? And trazadone you can take every night?
