Placebos are usually only used in studies, and if you haven't agreed to be in a study, then you're probably not on a placebo.

What meds are you taking?

Prozac 20mg. Last year when I was with a different pdoc he doubled the dose but I had to go back to 20mg cause it knocked me out.

The other day I took 10 cause I wanted to feel numb for a bit. Nothing happened...nothing! I don't believe they are real tablets.

Ask your doctor, frankly. I highly doubt you're on a placebo-especially with psychotropic meds, a responsible doc will not screw with you. Tell him your concerns, and that you believe you may be on a placebo.

On the other hand, taking a partial dose at an unusual time may not have much of an effect. It entirely depends on your unique body chemistry, your stress at the time, your blood sugar, etc etc etc. Don't freak out too bad.

Sorry I didn't mean 10mg...I meant 10 capsules at 20mg.

Bliss. Prozac is an accumulative drug. It builds up in your system. Meaning, it doesn't act like Tylenol, where the headache just goes away in an hour or so. You're just messing yourself up by taking 10 capsules. Sooner or later you're going to come down off that 10 capsules and back right where you started or worse. I wouldn't mess with your meds like that. It's not going to do any good.
