Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
I am on board with you about doing so well... I'm going through the worst time in my life right now (looong story regarding my 9 year old son...) but after taking myself off of medication I realized it was the meds that were making me so bad... I've been great compared to what I was on them... and I love it. However, recently my temper has been coming back and I absolutely hate it... I will lose my temper so quickly and then five minutes later be fine... this happens about three times a day, usually in the afternoon regarding my son's homework or my cranky 8 month old... I seem to yell, maybe throw something small at the floor then breath and talk myself out of it. I went quite a few months without even having this but because of the situation with my son, I too, feel like I am slowly going backwards. But we have to be safe, strong and well... sane for a lack of a better word... I have to be sane for my children and you have to find the strength that you had all this time into finding another job who would LOVE to have you. Each step in life is just that, a step... In three years, after you've had another good job that you have been able to focus on... do you think you're going to remember the pain you felt from this situation? In three years it wont be worth the time to remember... It WILL be worth it to KNOW the positive feelings you have in the present moment... We cannot let this take us over... We have to fight back and use the strength we know is there... Its hard, but I know if I have been able to do it, then anyone can. You're in my prayers and I hope you find that strength that we all know is within ourselves!
