Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.

It seemed to be doing a little good but I couldn't seem to grasp the entirety of the 12 steps. Having a sponsor didn't work out as a relationship like that is difficult for me to understand. I also was paranoid about attracting men.
It may be good just to try it, just to go. If you find yourself over-sympathizing, scoot it. Or share it. I liked the AA meetings for those who are okay with taking medications for mental disorders (they have their own meetings.) They were much more understanding of those diagnosed with an assortment of things.
I was dxed bi polar when I was sixteen, btw, but when looking into narcissism as a means to understand my ex I realized I was probably just as bad as him. Also, the cutting I did for nearly a decade would also make some wonder if I'm actually BPD rather than bi polar. Just thought I'd put my disclaimer out.
I personally go through phases with alcohol. It usually goes like this - no drinking at all (at certain times in life I have literally vomited if I tried to drink during this part of the cycle,) then occasional drinks, never extreme, which eventually plays into the binge drinking, which can last for years it seems, and every once in a while, this falls into the consistently excessive drinking that's the kind that will a) kill my liver and b) make me lose everything I have in life if I don't watch it... which usually puts me back at the start of the cycle. Sometimes I don't get that far but have been binge drinking, I can often times just fall back into occasional drinks.
