Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
Everything with time...nobody really knows WHY they have disorders...they just have them.
I don't know if you've ever heard of the book The New Codependency....but that might be helpful for you if you have Dependent Personality Disorder. I mean, technically that means you're pretty Codependent...right?? At least, that's what I think that means...I could be wrong. But I thought that's what it was. That book might help you. :)
I would also like to inform you that all of these "disorders" can actually be ONE or TWO disorders masked as many. For instance, attachment and dependency AND paranoia all fall under Borderline Personality. At least, it has all of those characteristics. You COULD always read a book on that instead...it would have advice for all of those situations. :) Like Survival Guide for Borderline Personality Disorder. Just some ideas. :)
