Manic episode

I recently had a major manic episode. the first time that I have actually wanted to hurt someone, actually it was ram into the car in front of me and I assure you I would have if my kids had not been with me and I was afraid they would get hurt is all that stopped me. That is really scarry considering I am on a mood stabilizer that my dr. is increasing little by little and I seem to be getting worse on it. I'm taking Limictal. Has anyone else had a similar insident where you actually got worse taking meds?

Oh God yes. I was given Prozac for depression/anxiety and it pushed me over the edge. My whole body was buzzing, even my skin and everything felt surreal and I was extremely manic. I couldn't sleep and wanted to drive off a cliff. It's why I won't take meds now. Who wants to get worse than you already feel? Sorry you are going through this. Your doc needs to seriously review what he/she gives you.

I'm on that med. but it helped me. Prozac made me suicidal. I have always thought of suicide, but while on it I almost tried.
Chantix MADE ME CRAZY PERIOD-STRAIGHT UP CRAZY! My mother in-law finally said please start smoking again. Your wish is my command dear-puff puff.

I want and need to hurt people all the time..but I don't///the law is quite a deterent..plus the timing can be wrong as well.

Doews anyone just look at somebody and have them being alive just piss you off? Its wierd. I can look at people not knowing them and know I don't like them.

Wow Andy, that must be tough to deal with. I am not like that all the time, in fact this was the first time. It really scared me! But i really could have hurt someone, like the guy in the car, that I wanted to bump into. And thank God a police officer did not pull me over...I cringe at the thoughts of what I would have said or done!!!!!

Andy I do have someone I know that I totally dislike! He's my husband's younger brother.
Yikes! But he pisses me off just by being. He has some psych issues but that's not why I don't like him (wouldn't that be horrible of me to dislike him because he has psych problems?) but he's lazy and he does do a lot around the house but he'll tell you what to do even when you've been doing it forever. He's like a paper cut. He's been the only person I've ever like this about. No I'm not attracted to him!!! Please. Take care.

Yes I have had that experience, it settled once my meds had settled and I worked also with my doc and therapist on how I felt. Some medications do increase the thourghts of self harm/suicidial thinking in people - you should talk to your doctor and tell them this is happening and it's concerning for you. Hope this is helpful
