Personality Disorders Support Group

Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
It's more about VALIDATION you crave- not people.
The BIG question is, why can't you validate yourself??? Why look to others? It's all about your self esteem. You have to be able to love yourself. If you can do that, you will NEVER be alone! : )))
DeliAnnem- OMG! You are so right! When I read your post it really clicked! I do look for validation from other people, I have since I could remember. It's like, I don't feel good about myself unless someone gives me praise and I need others to figure out everything for me. I brought that up today in therapy. I know I eventually have to validate myself and I am trusting that I can eventually.
Wildstorms- I actually have done a couple of meetups, and started two of my own (didn't really work out) I need to look for activities I actually want to do (I only used them to get in shape in the past). I so know what you mean! Isolating more and more makes me feel near agoraphobic eventually. lol A couple of times I was too judgmental of myself to go outside and take out the trash! You have helped and thanks a lot!
