Hi. I am in need of support I think. Not sure how to put this into words. I have depression and take meds for it. I also have feelings ( a voice even?) that constantly seems to be trying to make me question my worth, or something. These feelings/voice is with me all the time. Always there. Can't think of a better way to put it right now.
My question is, and I'm sorry if it's stupid, but what are personality disorders?

im sorry you are going through all of this. i suffer with simmilar issues as well.i cant remember how long. as for the personality part i dont know what it means. try the site mayo clinic.com.stay in touch if you would like to.

Thank you. I did go to the Mayo clinic site and checked out personality disorders. I seem to fit at least two or three profiles in at least two of the categories. As far back as the age of 9 or so I remember manifesting several things listed in the personality disorders symptoms.
Pretty sure the depression began as a teen but I didn't seek treatment until I was in my thirties. Good to know that these thoughts I have, whether in a depressive mode or not have a name and that I'm not the only one.
Now wondering if I should bring this up to my doctor when next I see him. Not a pdoc, just my regular family doctor. I've never seen a psychiatrist or psychologist. It was my family doc that prescribed my depression med. My concern is that if I go get treatment for a personality disorder that it will somehow get back to where I work which just happens to be a medical clinic.

I don't know what to say. There is HIPPA to protect your health records, but that only goes so far.
