Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
I dissociate. My doctors said that was the case after I explained situations like you described for depersonalization. I've also had REALLY scary experiences where I've driven places and I haven't known how I got there and I've been really disoriented. I was told that was a type of dissociation. I was there, but not really - I just was not connected to my thought processes. I had a really stressful incident happen prior to this experience.
Unstable image of self is also right on! I don't know what I believe, what I want to do in my life, and I can change what I like based on my husband's opinions. I love music, but don't ask me what kind. I guess that's a good example for me. I don't know what I want to do for a career. I don't know what I believe for a religion. I guess that you would say I'm not sure about much about myself.
Just thought i'd add something that u havent already heard and probably won't hear.
