Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a good day. I had 24 people coming to my home and one by one they all cancelled. They sent me mean and hateful emails. I do not care but now I am home alone crying my eyes out because I have no one to have this holiday with. I have previously gone to restaurants movie theatres many different diversions. I am devastated I cooked an entire meal to find out that everyone is laughing at my expense. Terrible is all I can say.

I am so sorry to hear that. I don't understand why anyone would do that to someone. I am just having it with my immediate family this year by my own choice, tired of traveling every year. I hope you can find someone to spend the holiday with.

sorry...what i meant by my last post was, were they family members (distant or close)? if so, and they are mean spirited, then I will pray for them. they need it.
if people who didn't know you accepted and then cancelled, that is in such bad form, they need to prayed for, too.
is there a priest or someone you can talk to to set you up with a meal?

I am soooooooo sorry that happened and i didnt see this post...OH MY! that is not true family.....each holiday I will write and check on u....and im sure everyone who reads this will too...HUGS

The people I invited were strangers who had no where to celebrate. They were on a couple of my meetup sites Look up meetup.com was a good site with lots of activities - it will explain.
They were so happy they I would open my heart and home for these people but when they had to bring food and chairs it turned upside down. I guess eventhough I had told them it was a potluck, they were getting a free meal.

I have no relatives, they are dead.

I spent Thanksgiving sleeping on the couch. Then drove to Boston Market for my holiday meal. I am amazed you know 24 people to invite and that actually agreed to come initially. I didn't even have one person to ask over or to invite me. I gave up a long time ago. The best thing is just to make it another day like any other.

People that won't bring a dish really are totally selfish and a bit pathetic, if you ask me.
You have the right idea. Maybe try again but ask a pastor or priest if they have anyone to send you. They can screen the people.

Aren't there any group dinners being that you are in Wiliamsburg? That is where the first Thanksgiving was held.
