Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
See your gp and say you have these symptoms and would like to be evaluated. They will refer you to a psychiatrist (possibly through mental health team), who will give diagnosis.
If you are lucky you will get treatment it depends on where you live. Ive found that the psychiatrist deals with pills that can help, though not always, and then theres psychology team / department who deal with the treatment. This may sound like a daunting process but you will most likely find that all of these people listen and are kind and make it as easy as possible for you! Good luck!
What are peoples experiences with that?
Also, if i do this, my family can never know. I realise that sounds odd, but my mother can be unbarable, and gossips about people with an illness like this.
My sister was going through a rough time and threatened to hurt herself, and instead of being there for her she gossiped about it to everyone. U can imagine how i felt knowing that i suffer with it. So i go out if my way to hide it, i have no choice... Its either that or get pointed and laughed at :(
