Trying to get to Oahu this year. It will be my 2nd time, and probably my last.
There are many islands in the chain. Oahu is the 2nd biggest, most populous, and has the international airport. Hawaii 'the big island' has the volcanos and big telescopes. Maui is the getaway for the rich and famous, at least until the big fire last year that destroyed the major town of Lahaina. Kawaii is popular because it is mostly undeveloped -- people like going there to ride horses!
Who else has been there? What do you recommend doing?

The famous Waikiki beach was almost too perfect. but I felt very conspicuous there. Everyone could tell, just by looking, that I was a tourist.
That's bcz I have never really liked the beach. I'm a desert rat at heart.
