I have had pernicious anemia since 1993.I was diagnosed when I was 23yrs old.Since then I have had nothing but trouble.Ive have had severe anxiety since.My endocrinologist had me on b-12 shots every 3 months.I could always tell when I needed a new shot because I would get sores around my mouth,extreme fatigue,hair fell out and irritable.I always managed to live my life until the last 18 months.I got Glandular Fever (Mono) in July last yr and then Chronic Fatigue.I was so sick and so tired that I hardly ate and lost loads of weight.I had to have someone with me at all times as I had my 4yr old home.My anxiety took hold.My husband and mother virtually force fed me till i gained strength and weight.
Eventually I overcome the illnesses with the help of friends and family but I havent overcome the anxiety.I barely leave my house.I suffer dreadful dizziness and weakness in my legs,extreme fatigue and headaches.I am often very cold as well.If I over exert myself doing housework I spend the next 2 days recovering.I also found that when I stress I get bad stomach pains and usually a migrane.I find that when my legs go weak is when the anxiety really hits.
I think a lot of my symptoms are due to my lack of b-12.I dont think the 3 monthly shots my doc has me on is helping.Ive been reading that in other countrys they have them monthly.I have started having them monthly but am not improving so Im thinking of having them weekly to get my levels up.I am also taking mega-b complex daily as well to build up my other vitamin b levels.Has any one else ever had major anxiety because of PA?Im also looking into using b-12 patches instead of injections.Any info would help me immensly.
