Support for those diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy
Hi everyone!
I know that this forum seems to be small but I would love to have any support that I can get. I had a laparoscopic surgery 2/15/13 and was diagnosed with stage II endometriosis. Ever since the surgery I have had horrible hip, leg and groin pain on the rightside. I had to quit my job from all of the pain and was unable to get into a pain clinic until recently. Dr. said that I have femoral neuropathy, damage sustained from the surgery either from surgical positioning or from the nerve being lasered when the endo was being removed. My life has gone to hell since this surgery. I have been upset since this surgery was supposed to improve my quality of life and has seemed to have done the opposite.
Anyways, I find that I have severe hip pain when I either walk or do too much activity or even if I sit for too long. I am waiting/praying for insurance to approve the femoral nerve block. My husband and I are leaving for our annual vacation to upstate NY to see my parents ad grandparents. Driving causes me severe pain to the point that I almost break down in tears. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with a 14 hour drive with such pain? I don't know if the Dr at the pain clinic is really paying attention to how much stress this upcoming trip is causing with the thought of a 14 hr drive. My grandparents are in their mid 80's and we cannot pass up a chance to see them as we never know what life has in store.
Sorry as I babble, I do not know anyone else that has this. I have 3 strikes against me with Degenerative disc disease, endometriosis and now neuropathy...any help or words of wisdom when it comes to this would be very much appreciated. I hope everyone else is having a pain free day!! Thanks so much for helping a newbie!

Go to wellness support network and check on nerve support formula. It got rid of a really painful foot and leg problem for me.. One would think ity too simple to do much good ,but iy sure worked for me...

Thank you, I will do that. Recently saw neurologist and it scared me that there was very little reflex in my leg with the damage but he said that it was minor ( even though it wouldn't look that way to me) and that it was healing! Good news just wish it felt more that way. Thank you for answering me I appreciate it

Have been dealing with this for a couple of years now but still learning. Also know about long road trips, our family is 14 hrs to hubby's and 23 hrs to mine. Honestly we do the trip to his family in 2 days so it's not too much sitting for me, hips are bad. When we stop I always te to walk a little and do some light stretching. The last time we did the trip I hate to say it but it was very bad. I usually do 1/2 or more of the driving but I could only drive for a couple of hrs before I had to take pain meds. Also changing positions as much as possible and travel pillows to cushion your hips. Sorry if this didn't help much, wishing you safe trip with little pain
