Hello everyone, I'm new here. And I am desperate to find out if anyone is going through similar symptoms to mine. I can deal with the hot flashes, and even the mood swings. But it's the days when I feel I'm losing my sanity that are getting me down. I go through a week, usually during ovulation, when my depression gets bad. At the same time, I have this weird confusion. I'll have dreams at night that I don't really remember right away. but throughout the day I have flashes of them. And when I do, it feels like things that really happened to me. A couple times a day I'll have what I can only describe as a vivid flash, accompanied by anxiety and a hot flash. Throughout this whole thing I feel like things "aren't right". Kind of like a constant deja vu, or that I'm living someone else's life. The whole thing is so hard to describe, and I hope I've come close. I'm 53 now, and I think I'm revving up to the end of peri, but unfortunately these episodes get closer. To top it all off, I have ovulated 6 times in the past 8 days. I know memory loss and confusion can be symptoms of peri, and believe me, I get those too. But has anyone else had symptoms anywhere close to mine?? At this point I'm really frightened and I think if I KNEW it was just peri hormone issues, I could calm down. See my Dad passed away from Lewy body dementia (a combination of parkinsons/alzheimers) and my fear is I inherited the same. Thank you for your help!!

Not quite. But I do know it has greatly magnified the depression I normally struggle with, And Scatterbrained doesn.t even come close.I am taking care of my dad who has vascular dementia and my mother has advanced MS. I am constantly worried that my twitches and forgetfulness are something more than just peri menopause. I also had my firdt seizure in 30 years recently too.

Hi, I'm new to this group too. My period has been like clockwork for a year or more. Last month, it was 4 days early (not surprising 'cause my Mom had been in the hospital etc.) but tonight I got my period 4-5 days early. Again, I have been very tired and overworked...but...man oh man. I thought it would start to get LESS frequent. :( Sara

p.s. Charlee44 sorry to hear about your unpleasant symptoms. I sometimes have what feels like depression or the blues and I hate it. It will pass and then I'll feel like "myself". It's not fun, is it? Hugs.

Hi, my stupid period has gone nuts lately. Last month I was 5 days early. Yesterday I got my period 10 days early. WTF?? So not fair.

I can deal with the period irregularity but it’s the constant anxiety, insecurity and weepiness that is the hardest. I’ve already been diagnosed with anxiety and depression but this is different. I feel like I’m 17 again, except not as skinny. :-). I am sooo sensitive, if someone says the slightest thing to me I want to burst into tears. It’s awful. Today I spent the day doing yard work to keep myself busy but literally could cry at the drop of a hat.

Hi, new here, nice to meet you all :) Sorry we're all going thru this :( I'm also having the mood swings, anxiety, extreme fatigue, lack of motivation. And my period's driving me crazy....
