So, after i joined pinterest.com i saw many ideas for saving money on cleaning products, laundry soap and softner, oxyclean (yes you can make it at home), 409, windex. Personally i LOVE the laundry soap and windex. The 409 works really well and so does the soap scum killer i use.
The shower door i hadnt gotten around to deep scrubbing (old house lots of updates to do first) so apparently the person who owned the house before us never cleaned this door. It was white with hard water spots. SO i took the door off and used the soap scum killer (half dawn and half vinegar) sprayed it on let it sit and went to work with 000 steel wool. --000 and 0000 steel wool doesnt scratch glass-- After a few minutes of elbow grease i got it ALL out. Not just some...ALL. THe aluminum housing was shiny like new, the glass was sparkly. It looked like a brand new door. So im a major believer in DIY cleaners.
NO, im not into the Green movement, im just super frugal when it comes to stuff like that.
Anyone else have any homemade/DIY cleaner idea?

Also what I do is pour things like storebought cleaners into a different spray bottle ( u can buy at store)
and I about 60% water to the bottle & i get double sometimes triple the amount of cleaner for the price of 1 bottle..
for fabric softener we use a container and fill it partway with liquid fabric softener & the rest water.
we leave household sponges in the water/fabric soft. & when we do laundry take a couple of the wet fabric softener sponges out of container squeeze excess liquid from them put sponges in dryer with clothes you'll have a cheaper fabric softener.

It works as good as store bought stuff. It's alot cheaper too.
