Cool! you got to MTHFR.....the implication on pd is huge!
i do know about MTHFR and methylation....this is one of the reasons ive made stress the top priority in wellness as stress affects methylation of folic acid which as you likely know is the process by which folic acid is made usable for our cells. i also know that if MTHFR is mutated by oxidation/stress your body can no longer adequately break down toxins and heavy metals for removal. its quite a big deal and has some serious repercussions when MTHFR is defective. im hoping my focus on mitochondrial health and stress reduction addresses a reduction in oxidative stress on MTHFR. i hope i hope i hope.......
i ran across this when i found that MTHFR mutations could be a tag indicator or more importantly a cause of pd. fascinating stuff!!!!!!!!!! have you got to the C677T variant stuff? it looks like it role is in PD onset but how do we slow down pd post onset in regard to MTHFR aside from reducing stress and changing our diet? any ideas?
you rock! happy researching 22lynn!
