My husband has been more confused lately and sometime not know who I am. He also has hallucinations and not comfortable where we live.
Says it doesn't seem right.
I didn't know that urinary infection can cause confusion, disorientation and hallucinations. We are waiting for blood results and urine sample to see if he has infection.
The doctor said not to get my hopes up that it is infection, as it could be from the Parkinson's.
We may have to wait until after Christmas as the tests were only taken on Tuesday.
If it isn't urinary infection, the doctor can give him something for hallucinations.

I have talked to the nurse several times and left a message for the doctor to call me with results so we can get something to help him. Last week I finally said that his next appointment was Feb. 17 and the specialist on Feb. 11 so she said the doctor has been behind and she changed the apt. to Feb. 3, so at least we'll get the results then.
In the meantime we also have the 6 month appointment with the MDS (it was booked months ago). Yesterday I called to confirm the appointment and thought about talking to the MDS's nurse because she is the one that suggested the blood test for UTI before Christmas.
I just wanted to update her and possibly have a memory test at the appointment.
I told her about the hallucinations and confusion and she talked about Seroquel medication, but she is going to pull up his chart and have the doctors discuss it and will get back to me, in a few days.
They have clinic appointments on Thursday's and Friday's so hopefully she calls me tomorrow, (Wed.).
I dare not leave the house and my husband wouldn't be able to talk to her, but if she doesn't call by afternoon, I'll call her again.
His hallucinations are increasing and sometimes he doesn't know me or if he is in the right house. That is the scary part and very upsetting. The nurse said it could be from the Sinemet or the starting of dementia.
His sleeping habits are terrible too and it's getting to me as it disturbs my sleep. .
I just hope that help is soon on the way........

I've been taking Tylenol in order to get to sleep.
The Tylenol I was giving him was in the middle of the night about 7 hours after the cara/leva. It usually puts him to sleep for a few hours.
He's been taking 2 - 100mg./25mg. 4 times per day for the past 8 years and no other medication for PD so there can't be any other interaction.
