Greetings Friends, Sorry that I've been out of touch from Y'all but after working 5:00am to 2:00Pm I'm so tired that after taking a shower I crash out for a bit then have dinner and by 9:00PM I hit the sack since I wake up at 4:00am . Well approximately 6 Months ago my Neurologist increased my medication from 0.5mg to 1.MG. Went to see another Neurologist on the first week of September at which time She gave me several intensed exams and afterwards She said that my Parkinson's has affected my Left Leg as well. Man, Talk about dropping the Bomb! She advised me that I need to undergo a Full MRI and a Brain Scan. So this Morning I did it both but now got to wait to see my Neurologist for the results. I have'nt yet purchased the other Parkinson's Medication. I know that I need to but I hate taking the one that I've been taking since January 2013 when I was originally diagnosed! Hi Judoguy and welkome back. Didn't you already had an MRI. Is there problem , is it unclear and she cannot reed it? Before u start on another pd med reed the book free on line "Once upon a pill" it may help you decide.

My former Neurologist had me undergo a Dat Scan on my brain. My new Neurologist wanted me to have a full body MRI to see how my spinal cord is? Don't know why since I'm not having any back problems? I have'nt taken the new meds yet? Thanks :-)

Can you be more specific on what you now take and what they want you to take. You know PD cannot be SEEN on tests unless I'm not entirely up to date. It's a diagnosis of elimination---figurinig out what you DON'T have. What is the med you now take and the one they want you to add?

Judo,
My neuro told me, after many other tests (not multiples of the same tests though), that the only way to absolutely confirm PD was to try me on Sinimet. If I responded, they were sure. I thought I was cured (for the first few weeks..lol) that's what a huge difference it made. Don't let them waste too much of your time and $$$.

Judoguy, If you have tremors and you try sinamet or the generic carboleodopa and the tremors come under control you have PD. If you look at early symptoms can also be a good indicator. They include loss of sense of smell, softer voice, smaller hand writing, pain or stiffness on one side of your body, fatigue, there are more. This has been discussed on this site before. Look up past discussions of early symptoms. Knowledge is power. Hope this helps.
