Thank you for posting Paul!! It is very informative. Especially interesting is her play on progression and her feeling there being two different types of PD - slow and fast progression. I think that is why our symptoms are so alike and yet other symptoms so different.

The one thing that upsets me though is when she (they) say that we do not die from PD. I don't understand that. How can they say that we die from the results of the symptoms of PD but that is not dying from PD? In coming to that conclusion the medical profession [must use some medical process that defines the reasoning behind the process a coroner uses to identify the cause of death.

Also very upsetting is that she (they) said PD causes no pain. Again is it the way the medical professionals gage or identify pain? I feel that my pain from rigidity is debilitating and my sickness from wearing off my meds causes me pain so that I can not function and must withdraw from my activities and wait for the meds to kick in or rest.

What is the medical professionals' take on pain? How do they judge pain? I am filling out a new patient questionnaire and it asks me where my pain is and what is it on a scale to 1-10.

Well debfrnj................its political. by confirming that pd causes you to die it kind of forces the medical/pharma industry to have to ramp up $ toward cures, by keeping pd benign so to speak, they keep it off the cure table and on the long term money making table. it also forces medicare and insurance co's to look at pd differently etc etc..... its kind of like when congress places a species on the endangered list....it forces the fed and state to provide money to protect the animal. AARP consistently has refrained from recognizing pd for what it is and they are a huge lobby. that used to piss off silfox alot.....its actually good business to keep us strung along on costly meds and treatments that dont work as opposed to eliminating the problem.

if my lungs filll with fluid and food chunks because i cannot cough or swaallow correctly from pd and i die of pneumonia.....i most certainly die of pd.......and pd causes huge amounts of pain and discomfort for a whole lot of us.

downplaying the disease is how they keep us as paying customers longer...its Rockefellars industrialized medicine model that has been in place since the early 1900's.

Thats why we need a poster boy or girl that doesnt just talk about how positive their life is with pd but how badly its tearing people apart and how inneffective the meds are and treatments and how dying from malfunctioning lungs and associated bedridden related illnesses/injuries.

Just look at how different things are when you say cancer. Cancer kills .....so if i get brain cancer i dont die from cancer but from heart and respiratory failure due to failure of the autonomous nervous system from cancer......nooooo.......if its cancer it kills you because of the way its been defined for us. cancer kills, pd does......what does pd do? duhhhhhhhhhhhhh......it made my grandmas hand shake thats about it..........
